Protection Manager (Risk Reduction) – Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service

We have a number of dedicated Protection Teams to deliver our services and are creating a new team to deliver the Greater Manchester Remediation Acceleration Plan – this will build on the work we have already been doing relating to High Rise buildings and expand our offer including an increased focus on resident engagement.
We are seeking highly motivated and proactive individuals who can take the initiative and work well under pressure. As a Protection Manager, you will have the responsibility to lead, plan, organise, manage and monitor planning and service delivery of a range of Protection activities including regulatory enforcement, business engagement and support to communities, businesses and other organisations. You will act as a subject matter specialist and provide advice to colleagues, senior officers and partners in relation to our regulatory and business engagement work and develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures, and training to ensure the safety of the public and firefighters. Ideally you will hold a Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety or be working towards to it or have an equivalent qualification from another regulatory discipline.

You will lead and manage a team of Fire Safety Inspectors and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure the development and delivery of activities which improve the safety of communities and the built environment.
